What's in a name?
Be honest, you heard the name Remix, and you were like, “Wait…what is the name?” That’s exactly what we want. Remix Church doesn’t sound like a church you’ve heard before, but there is so much more to our name.
Here are some variables that led us to become Remix Church.

-Taking the name literally, it means to mix again. God created humankind to be united with one another and with God. Sin divided people from God and people from people. Jesus died to reconcile God and people. We want to chase after that calling. Heaven will will be a "remix," as all people are finally brought together through the blood of Jesus. Also, Jesus prayed, "Your Kingdom come. Your will be done." We believe the church should represent that reconciled Kingdom on earth. It's time to remix the city.

-A remix is a fresh display of God's direction and will. Remixes are a theme of the Scriptures. David said in Psalm 40:3, “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” This is David’s way of saying that his passion for God was made fresh. He had experienced God in a new way. Same God – new way. David didn’t have remix in his vocabulary, but his heart was writing a remix.

-Remix was a word that popped up as our leadership read several books on multicultural churches that used remix in their title or chapters. It's a word that has taken on new life with a multi-ethnic vision. Also, it isn't usually applied to "church." We think that's good.
-Some will connect to remix as a musical word. We like that too. Music is so important to the church. I mean, what is a remix? It's taking differing pieces, putting them together, and creating something beautiful. That's what we want this church to be.
